| Bishop’s Stortford HC/HBHUA pre-season tournament @ Stortford College | |||
| After last year’s inaugural Bishop’s Stortford Hockey Club/HBHUA tournament in which Old Bordenians beat Old Loughts Foresters on penalty flicks after a thrilling 2-2 draw in the final, we will be hosting a men’s pre-season tournament in association with the Herts & Beds Umpiring Association on Saturday 3rd/Sunday 4th September 2011 on the two Astroturf pitches at Bishop’s Stortford College. The tournament is once again open to all hockey clubs and the standard is broadly East League Division 3SW level. Once again this will be a great opportunity to get some competitive hockey and experiment with formations and new players before the league’s start for the 2011/12 season. It is also an opportunity for your club to have umpires assessed. The structure of the tournament will be two groups of five teams which ensures that each side has at least two matches a day lasting 25 minutes each way. The first matches will commence at 10am with the final matches to be played at 4pm on the Sunday. We ask teams to commit to both days to ensure a fully competitive tournament. An entry fee of £125 per side is charged with cheques payable to “Bishop’s Stortford Hockey Club”. Full payment is required by Monday, 30th May 2011. | |||
